I only hear them on the CLMRN system. I pretty much took them out of the scan pattern because they all sound terrible now on the low band (or at least they did when I last listened).
The East Hotline and Hartford Hotline are also on the CLMRN now.

If I recall correctly the daily New Haven low band (45.86) hotline test for all departments is at 5:00a. You'll get a pretty good idea of what you are able to receive from your location. Some of the guys like to make humorous comments when answering for their department. The test is run by Troop I for all departments located in "I Land".

BTW: New Haven is on often enough with Hamden, East Haven, Woodbridge, and West Haven (Hot Line? What Hotline? "Oh, we had the volume turned down") which was the situation with WHPD in my day and apparently remains as such.

I had been hearing the hotline even with its bad over deviated audio up until recently. I still have not heard it recently since my original post. Has anyone heard it on the 45.86 freq in the past week? (Not on the state CLMRN)

Listen to the AM hotline test.
On the other hand, perhaps no hotline worthy activity has recently occurred between 93 PD and the surrounding towns. That's always a possibility.

I frequently hear the Hartford County Hotline on 45.86 from Central Connecticut location. The Hartford County has a pl of 136.5. It is used often between Hartford, and surrounding towns, including N.B., Plainville, Farmington, Newington, Cromwell, and Rocky Hill among others. I also have programmed 45.86 with no pl and on occasion hear towns further south. Hartford Hotline is also on CLMRN tg 5395.

I for one love the Hot Lines being on CLMRN you get so much more.
For Fairfield County I have a zone on my G5 with the hotlines, Uasi Calling, and Fapern (FAPERN is only on the CLMRN when Darien patches it..Not Often)
And you get a great take on what's going on
CMED Uses UASI Calling to give out accidents on the highway, Stamford used it the other day for Mutual aid fire, and Wilton used it to get mutual aid for a fire from 3 towns all at once, great to listen to

Yes they also give out hospital diversions etc. Thats not what it was originally for. The New Haven county hotline was for PD to PD for instant BOLO and critical information when a phone call would take to long.

Yes it was, 5:00 bright an early. Was my morning "wake up call" (LOL) at the troop when I was dispatching. The other dispatchers from teh cities / towns would love me during a pursuit. I would link up all the TGs we were using to the hotline and they would link their radios to it as well, seamless communications.

Speaking of turned down volumes, there was on open mic incident we could not figure out for hours who had it on 45.86. Finally we heard a conversation pertaining to lets say not a local or state issue. Needless to say I proceeded to Fastly call the Brother agency and Insisted to check their console. To which they had a book laying on the PPT of the desk mike. LOL

Ask him if he remembers the "Hawk", the voice of "Radio Free I"
"Cars to I standby , the Hawk has flown the coop again, I have to find him" a familiar refrain in days past.

Some folks may not realize that the Hotline has multiple PL's for various areas in the State. From my home in Granby, I can hear Hartford and New Haven.
45.86 is the frequency
Groton - 123.0 (Eastern CT)
Hartford - 136.5 (North Central CT)
New Haven - 110.9 (South Central CT)

It is also a National Interoperability freq for low band using 156.7 (LLAW3) but I have never logged that. When low band was popular, the interopability stuff wasn't (at least around here)
