Hi,

I'm in new haven and i'm monitoring the three main PD freqs -- i looked them up in the database here and got:

460.45000, listed as NHPD south
460.50000, listed as NHPD north
and
460.10000, listed as NHPD detectives

however, these don't seem to make much sense. Does anyone know, for instance, where the north and south boundary is? Is it real? both channels seem to feature activity downtown, and at similar intersections. Also, the "detectives" this morning were talking about getting a flatbed for a car that hit a telephone pole. I don' tknow about new haven but that doesn't sound like "detectives" to me. Can anyone clear this up?

also, the 10 codes in use here are impenetrable and i've had no success finding a local 10 codes list. NYPD doesn't seem to match up. Anyone know where to find one? (This includes the "signal" codes, "signal 32", "signal 30",etc). A list anywhere?

Cheers!

there are NHPD codes listed in the back of the Police Call directory. I don't know if they are correct but they are there. While it is no longer published, there are likely to be some at a local Radio Shack store.

As for the accuracy of the database, I cannot monitor NH so I can add or correct anything.

ok, first off, NHPD's codes are online in plenty of places and have pretty much been the same for years. 2nd F-1 which is listed as detectives are actually det's, warrant and mv checks. As for the north/south - they try to utilize them as described, but there are also patches btwn channels if there is a chase, etc. as long as you have the freqs and they work so be it. btw F5 scan is still 460.150 and they are using the 460.050 but not much.

Speaking of 460.050, the database has it listed as having a PL of 110.9. I am listeneing to activity on it with a PL of 107.2 and it sounds like a school/college. They are talking about students and residents. Any ideas?

Hm, i saw "SCAN" listed as 460.0500, but didn't know what that was. What's the scan hotline?

New Haven County C-MED is interesting, but again, i can't find their signal codes anywhere, so it's a bit cryptic listening to them.

Just checked out your site. Good stuff. I was wondering if you know of any other signals. For instance, the signal for heart attack or difficulty breathing or anything like that. I don't know if they exist, but I assume they would. Also (and I will be starting a new thread for this question too), I am in Bethany CT and I notice that C MED (at least I think it's C MED) dispatched on the Bethany Fire Dispatch channel which is 33.54. The licence for that channel (and all the Bethany channels) is KCE357. RadioReference also gives the same licence for the "Fire South Central Mutual Aid" with a frequency of 154.2950. Is that licence description an error? Also, I can clearly pick up the base when it transmits on 33.54 (they identify themselves as "Fire-Com"), but I can rarely pick up the responding units. Does Bethany not use a repeater? It's as if the responding units transmit on the same channel with no amplification to the signal strength. Any ideas?

I haven't heard any other signals being used. Typically they just use 12, 16, 17, 26, 29, and 99. Some don't even use the signals. They'll say "ETOH" for a drunk and such. I have never heard a signal for things like heart attacks, etc.
