I have a question...... With this new hospital open today will CRFD, LFD, and others transport there and let Centura do transports to sky ridge and what not for overnight stays or will they continue going to sky ridge and others until Castle Rock adventist gets overnight capabilities?

I haven't kept track of what is going on down their but hospitals typically get state certified for different levels of Emergency care, it will be interesting to see how this will be handled. The master plan is to build this out to be an ever expanding hospital. Even Skyridge can't handle certain things they do a fast stabilization and evaluation and move you on with more advanced care if needed.

Is it really a hospital yet or just an urgent care center "doc in a box"?

That will make a lot difference in the regulations and ability for EMS to actually transport there.

Yea....I realized they opened today and was wondering is it worth transporting here if they are going to need hospitalization? Havent paid attention to the scanner to see if CRFD is transporting here.

It's more of can they handle more than a evaluation of a possible hart attack or are they able to treat that same problem with the proper care that is needed. They may be able to treat you if you need stitches but if you cut your tendon and need a surgeon you need to move on. Even at most emergecare centers you will here Emergency response from a rescue unit for transport to a hospital not all "Emergency" rooms are truly able to take care of all things. You will hear that a hospital is on trauma divert some times this is that they don't have the staff or they are overloaded or they have deemed that for what ever reason they no longer are able to meet the criteria set by the state or the hospital for proper care.

Guess they are now or have been an approved ER, CRFD Medic just asked and received the divert status for "Castle Rock Adventist"

I actually heard Medic 154 transport to Castle Rock the same night (or next morning) this topic was made. It was for a very mild fall injury for an elderly patient if I recall, I believe anything outside of that earns you a ticket straight to Sky Ridge or Parker, which is why you probably rarely hear of any units going to Castle Rock Adventist.

I'm not sure radiology is 100% full strength as well. ER evaluations such as CAT scan or MRI take weeks of onsite training and onsite calibration; I think surgery will be directly below the rooms of the future tower, yet to be built. As mentioned above, some yellows and greens have gone to CR Adventist.

Has anyone caught the ER talkgroup for this facility yet? The updated state list shows they do have a TG assigned, but no clues as to what it is.
