I was recently down in the Point Pleasant area and came across 453.525 MHz and it sounded like police operations. I noticed that the RR database, for some reason, does not include this frequency under Point Pleasant anywhere. However, I did find it licensed recently in the FCC database for Point Pleasant Beach. See link: ULS License - Public Safety Pool, Conventional License - WQKB485 - POINT PLEASANT BEACH, BOROUGH OF I know the other two PD frequencies for Point Pleasant Beach are P25 digital, however 453.525 is not. Does anyone know exactly what this third frequency is used for exactly? Just curious.

I posted about this frequency when I discovered it on the FCC Database earlier this year - just that the license was issued in March of this year. I never actually programmed it but will do so today and post back if I hear anything that would indicate what they're using it for.

Yeah, I'm thinking perhaps the traffic department or auxilary PD could be using it. Keep us updated if you get any further info on it DJ.

Just to bring you guys up to speed, around the time of the original post all I heard were a couple of radio techs testing briefly one time, then nothing since. When the band opens with our famous coastal ducting I hear the NYSP Throughway and Southern Tier patrols and/or Hamilton Township. There are several active licenses in NJ but those two are all I hear.

Actually I question the reliability of your source.
F1 476.350
F2 477.025
F3 477.825
I often hear some of them on the repeater outputs while others operate through them while on fireground making me wonder if they understand the channel setup in their radios. (;->) Seriously, why would they need yet another channel in this postage stamp size town? Still I hear nothing on it, nor on F3 for that matter.

Yeah, I also question Elias's "reliable source" because when I monitored the frequency last month, it was definitely PD activity because they ran a license plate check on it. I don't live in the area, so I can't monitor it 24/7, but I assume it's still not that active.

Well Ben I'd say you might have a bit of difficulty hearing it from Union but living a couple of blocks from the tower I'd say maybe I'm a reliable source? While I don't monitor 24/7 I do have the scanner on whenever I'm home and awake and have never heard any activity besides that which I mentioned in an above post.

Being you have the altitude, something like an average of 300' AMSL it's quite likely you hear more than I do even when the band is closed and MAYBE you can hear PPB from up there too. FYI I used to live on the corner of Pleasant Parkway and Andrew Street, all I can say is WOW!
