• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Very nice ! I like your invisible desk.
Ditto. Very cool.

Are you trying to corner the market on CBs, or what? Do you have some inside information that they will be worth something again in the future?

Well, no. My roots are in CB. Many hams use CB as a "stepping stone" of sorts and once they're licenced, they forget about it and then start bashing CB'ers.

I cut my hind teeth on CB Sideband.

Hey, I'm not bashing CB. I'm just trying to figure the value of having five of them set up in one shack.

(Yes, the 10m counts as a CB)

Memories. The Uniden Grant holds a special place in my heart. The guy that got me into CB sideband had one and showed the other side to me in his driveway. So, I went out and bought one and it tured out to be a complete basketcase. He restored it, removed the channel kit and echo crap and turned it back to stock, with a few tweeks.. ;)

Nevertheless, Value or not, it's my shack. If I want a stack of 30 CB's, I'll have them. :)
