New to Ametuer Radio where do I begin

Hello everyone, I am interested in becoming a Ham operator but do not know where to start. Any help in this will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. What do I need to do to become Liscenced?

There are 66 clubs listed on "that site" in New Jersey. It took a 2 minute search on it to find the Morris Radio Club.
