New to P25 scanners, would a Uniden BCD325P2 be able to get these frequencies?

The frequencies on this page say P25 so I’m assuming the Uniden can pick them up. Looking at this page though would it be able to get the ones listed under Law Enforcement and since they do not have frequencies how would you distinguish between them. Not sure what the DEC/HEXcorresponds to.

thanks!

On the page you linked, see where it says sites and frequencies... Those are the frequencies you put in to hear the talkgroups(the DEC number).

BUT, do you also see where it says simulcast... That means that the only scanner that will work correctly is the sds100/200.

You may be able to get a simulcast system to work ok on the bcd325p2 but the sds series is highly recommended.

Also pay attention to the mode column, I see a lot of DE which means encrypted and nothing can hear that.

You'll also want to look at the site location map linked here & included in screenshot below. Depending on where you're situated relative to two or more towers on the simulcast you'll be bound to face the aforementioned simulcast distortion. <<---click that link to learn about it & ways to try and mitigate it before taking the plunge and buying an SDSx00

Thanks, on the fence about buying this now. Does that mean my local county dispatch will have the same issue, it does say simulcast as well.

Sheriff is NXDN, not encrypted, using no TG (TG0) and appears to be simulcast across all 3 towers (11/19) *future 151.4675

Erock7625-No Uniden Bearcat scanner will receive P25E as "E" indicates encrypted.
You could try a Uniden Bearcat BCD325P2 from Amazon as #1, they are $340 now which is a great price and in the menu system under settings, you can adjust the P25 digital squelch threshold settings. Please take a look at this great handheld scanner on YouTube and look at its features and benefits and then also look at the SDS100 too.
Hope I have helped you.

I find it interesting that it says not encrypted, but the mode shows P25E, where the E indicates encryption.

Ah, got it, didn’t even catch that. I did just now order the BCD325P2, I guess I can try it out and see what I can get with it.

Maybe, but maybe not. The 3 simulcast cells might be spaced far enough away for it not to be a factor (depending on topography between them and you of course) unless you're using an external antenna but with full encryption in play, no hopes monitoring them anyway

As it's been pointed out, some of what you want to listen to is encrypted. Illinois State Police is still in the clear.

I wouldn't waste your money on the 325P2, because you'll probably be disappointed. The SDS100 or SDS200 would be a better choice which you'll probably be purchasing later when you throw the 325P2 out the window...LOL!

As far as system questions, the Illinois forum might be a good place to get the answers:

Sheriff does not show up as NXDN in database. If database is correct, they are not using NXDN. Note it is P25E. The capital E means fully encrypted and it cannot be received by any scanner. NAC (Network Access Code) tone is used for P25 frequencies, not NXDN. If it were NXDN, it would have a RAN (Radio Access Number).
