New to scanning!

Could anyone give me some tips on scanning? I am new and I have a Pro-97. I dont know many things about this scanner and was wondering if anyone could give me info on how to get freqs for it.

Kenpo one way to go about this is to first become a premium subscriber (quite cheap); then get a USB-Serial converter (RS still has them, last I heard) and get Win97 from Starrsoft. You can then download data directly from the databases here.

The PRO-97 is a nice scanner, from all accounts, assuming you have no digital trunks where you are. 73s Mike

Scan a Bank in "Open" mode. Everytime a talk-group shows up, press "Trunk". After a week, check and see how many talk-groups you have saved.
