New Uniden UBCD396XT in Oz

Hi all, new to scanners in general, recently purchased this handheld.. have been reading, reading, reading, and also downloaded FreeScan, but for the like of me still cant quiet grasp how to program the radio.

I live in the blue Mountains west of Sydney, and want to primarily use the scanner for RFS monitoring throughout NSW. I'm a member of the RFS and also travel a bit for work.

Sort of understand about control frequencies,, if i copy data from this link to FreeScan then upload that, will that get me started.. anyone has a sample of the RFS files i need maybe..

You'll probably get more replies if you post your questions in the Australia-specific forum on this site.

As for setting up the BCD396XT for monitoring the NSWGRN P25 trunking network I suggest you visit either www.aurfscan.com.au or AussieScanners.com - Home. There is a learning curve with these type of scanners and getting a freescan profile from another scanner user is a good way to get started.

Suggest you have a look at:-

and read all the way through, even as far back as October last year.
