New User of BCT-15, some questions

Just opened the box. Looks like a nice piece. I want to but a software package to program the BCT-15 BUT I also have a PAIR of Radio Shack PRO-2052 units. I know there are several makes of software out there that will program BOTH of these scanners. Does anyone have any experience with THESE, DUAL purpose software items that can do the BCT-15 and the 2052? It sounds like the SUPPLIED cable with the BCT-15 that plugs in the front is NOT neccessarily the cable to use with other software other than the UNIDEN. IS that RIGHT? ( Looks like it is used for CLONING too.) Also, is it true that I need to PURCHASE an UNLOCK KEY from a dealer/Uniden to " unlock the software's full functionality?" I assume this is just for the UNIDEN software. Any other tips on the BCT-15 are welcomed and appreciated. Thanks ! - Mike

Scan Control does support both the 2052 and the BCT15 - I find the editor to be awfully klunky, but it does work...
