The Va. State Police have been licensed (WQYH318) for 5 temporary fixed bases and 4,000 mobiles for either base(s)/mobile(s) or mobile(s)/mobile(s) comms using P25 P1 with the Maryland State Police.

The frequencies are:

770.48125 mhz. and 773.36875 mhz @ 5 watts power input and ERP @ 3 watts.

Probably the appropriate VSP Division 2 and 7 mobiles will be additionally equipped. .

Here is the FCC link:

ULS License - Conventional Public Safety 700 MHz License - WQYH318 - VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE

Also Divisions 1 & 5

Deleted as I don't know if "Region 20" ecompasses VSP First Divsion..

The Maryland state line border also has potential impacts for VSP Division 1 Northern Neck and Division 5 in Accomack Co., Eastern Shore. If there is an emergency of a level requiring additional VSP assets, in my opinion, troopers will be pulled ASAP from within or from other divisions for temporary support regardless of any DHS or whatever regional plan. These two division mobiles definitely also should be equipped.

There also may be DHS or other federal grant monies to both states for the effort.
