America's high-five.
I'm trying to program a trunked sytem into my scanner. I got info on the frequencies from this site. my scanner wants 2 things that i'm not completely sure of. 1) the talk group i.d., and 2) the LCN. this is the info i got from the site... Are these arbitrary things i shouldn't be concerned about or is the info included here???? (I tried programming Traffic Law Talk).

What system is it exactly? Post the link to the page in the database. You need to store the trunking frequencies before you store the TGIDs.

The frequencies are what get programmed with the LCN order. The scanner asks for the LCN when you store the frequencies with the system set to EDACS. Since it's an EDACS system all frequencies must be stored. You then store the TGIDs as groups under that system. If you notice that system is partially AEGIS digital so the TGIDS listed as D can't be listened too.

The talkgroup ids can be considered the channels on a trunked system see this link for a good explanation of trunked systems. http://www.uniden.com/products/ButIjustwanttolistentothePolice.pdf
Now are the TGIDs important yes very do you actually have to enter them no you can set the radio in ID Search mode and it will pick them up as they become active. You can then store them or lock them out. Since some are digital they are just going to come in as noise so you will want to lock those out.

Note that for the system you are showing, the talk groups that have a mode of "D" will not be monitorable by any scanner.
