Newbie Questions

I have the new Uniden BC246T handheld scanner which also supports Trunking. It came with preloaded systems including New York City. It did not come with a New Jersey system.

I was wondering if anyone out there has a database they can share or knows where one is available to download. I am using the Uniden UASD software but I could take a text file and convert it if necessary from other formats. I am interested in the Bergen County, Hudson County and Rockland Counties (NYS).

Bytebrothers site is okay but is quite outdated in some areas. Take a look at N2NOV.net. Good stuff in text format and always updated.

Click around the sticky topics at http://www.fordyce.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=RocklanU for Rockland public safety stuff. Probably the most accurate collection of channels I know of around. Trunking is not commonly used in Rockland; Regional EMS and one of the highway departments are they only ones trunking, as of now. Everybody else is conventional, for now.
