• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I'm a computer scanning newbie plinking on my RadioShack dual trunking Pro-95 scanner (No snickering at my dinosaur, please... ;-) And I stumbled across this great website and the forums and signed up.

I know this is the install forum, but it looks like the closest thing to what I'm interested in.

Just started playing around with my scanner again after several years and found some software via this website to allow me to push frequencies from and to my scanner from this website called Win95.

Has anyone found a straight forward way to convert the .xml files from this website feed to something that can be imported into Win95 software (Win95 V00.13 made by Dan Starr http://www.starrsoft.com/Win95) or does someone already have a hot Win95 Scanner Database file (.p95) for the RadioShack Pro-95 for the Atlanta, GA area?

If not, maybe someone has a better way to get the frequencies and trunk info from this website into the Pro-95?

I searched, but didn't find anything. If this should be moderated to a better area, please push it over there.

I'm interested in Gwinnett / Fulton / DeKalb Counties sort of frequencies.

Thanks in advance.

I know someone figured out how to program their Pro95 already.

Remember how you did it if you've moved on to bigger and better things???

I'm sure your scanner is probably better.

I'm working with what I have here, just getting back into my scanner.

Any points in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Fortunately, GA
Gwinnett is P-25 digital. Only the FD is in the clear. Atlanta and Fulton are analog, as well, as De Kalb. The 95 is an easy scanner to program. Used to have one a couple of years ago. Most every system in the Metro area is going digital. Forsyth has and is the clear. Hall went digital and encrypted. Doesn't leave much for the 95 to monitor any more. It is easier if you post in the Georgia Forum. Maybe the forum moderator will move these posts:)
