Going to be making a trip up to Newport soon... What should I be listening to? Anything that isn't in the DB that would be interesting?

Depends on what you like to listen to. There is a TON to listen to down there.
As you likely know Newport PD are encrypted on RISCON. You'll likely hear Block Island's DMR trunk from there.
Between Feds, business, fire, etc.

Aquidneck Island is about 90% on the state trunked system with 50% of that being encrypted. The rest of the state is about the same. Not to sure on Massachusetts systems. With the right radio (Unification g4 G5 you'll be good to go.

If you listen real close, you can hear the rest of the Cliffwalk about to slide into the ocean 😂 If I'm ever down that way in summer I'd love to do some marine scanning right on the coast, there's tons of boats around Newport when the weather is nice plus the ships passing by from the Buzzard's Bay
