Im not out that way to confirm what they use.

For MDOT I see them listed as using the MPSCS in the database.
As stated most have moved two the MPSCS, so these VHF ones may not be used anymore. Hopefully you can confirm if they and/or the Berrien county VHF are silent out your way over probably hearing them on MPSCS.

Department of Transportation (MDOT) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

County roads -

Berrien MPSCS:
MDOT
6181 1825 D SOUBCMC Berrien County Public Works

Have my doubts this one is active anymore

MPSCS talkgroups 1510 or 1518 will likely be your best bet for MDOT Niles garage units

Use frequencies for Sumnerville tower in database for closest tower

Go with what Jimsokol says since he is local to the region.

For reference in the database http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=100 we have -
State D.O.T. (MDOT) - Southwest Region Talkgroups
NextLevel.gif

1509 Sawyer Garage
1510 Niles Garage
1511 Coloma Garage
1512 Jones Garage
1513 Kalamazoo Garage
1514 Allegan County
1515 Van Buren County
1519 South Haven Garage (Allegan County)
6176 Southwest Operations
6181 Berrien County

Jim - the 1518 is that a typo? no 1518 appears in the database.

Also how bout those VHF freqs I mentioned above that are in the database? Are you saying they could be set to be depreciated?
Certainly all if not most MDOTs are on MPSCS Ive found.

Sorry for the delay. Don't spend as much time as I'd like to lately on the fun stuff.

1518 isn't a typo. I didn't notice it wasn't in the db

Generallly, it would be a good idea to try any of 1509 thru 1519, but the two I mentioned should be good. Be aware that usage is different in the snow months; in construction months things can be different.

Under your mention of county roads, I believe the 156MHz freq may be the only correct one. I haven't monitored them on anything lately, but thought the 33 MHz was no longer in use.

The 6181 talkgroup is not Berrien County, but MDOT. Not sure of exact usage, area or designation.

Berrien County Road commission is not using MPSCS, with the (rare) exception of a supervisor unit or two on the 11COM tg's

I have a older pro-2096 scanner that I picked up at a auction 4 or 5 years ago, I know nothing about programing them so I can't help. But from the conservation I heard to night, it was two sand trucks from the Berrien County Rd Com Bakertown Garage.
