NIST Ending NWS Marine Broadcasts

NIST has announced as of October 31st, National Weather Service Marine Storm Warning announcements via WWV and WWVH, broadcast since 1971, will be discontinued.

OK and the Article only states is ceasing ops--there is No reason why its stopping--didnt they just get funding for 2019???----Hmmmmmm

I thought WWV was going away anyway by January. So why would one bother with programming on a station that is on the chopping block?
