Just a quick question....I was just wondering why the RR database seems to leave out the frequency group including 860.4875, 860.2375, 859.4875, etc... However, only lists the ones in the 866-868 range as seen here. New Jersey Transit (North) Trunking System, Various, New Jersey - Scanner Frequencies

What is the difference between these 2 sets of frquencies for NJ Transit Buses North and why is one set in the rr database, but not the other? Just curious.

First of all, the trunk system frequencies listed for New Jersey Transit North are wrong. At least I think they are. With the 800 MHz rebanding, they should all be in the 850 MHz range now. (866-868MHz rebanded are 15MHz lower). I was under the impression that all rebanding has been completed. If I'm wrong here regarding this system, someone please correct me.
Secondly, the frequencies you listed may be conventional, and therefore wouldn't be listed with the trunk system info. I don't monitor NJ Transit so I can't say for sure. If in fact they are conventional, they may be listed somewhere else in the database. I looked but couldn't find anything regarding conventional frequencies for them.
Maybe someone else can offer further assistance.

If I recall correctly, NJ Transit was granted a waiver for re-banding due to migration to TETRA TRS as it becomes available. The 866-869 MHz freq. on the Motorola Type I/II TRS are still very active - they did not reband. I'm unsure as to the answer for the rest of the original question... ;)

Yeah, I wouldn't have asked the question in the first place if their frequencies were rebanded. I know for sure that the freq's listed in the DB is correct. However, for some reason they leave out the 2nd set starting with CH. 1 860.4875, Ch 2 860.2375, etc... I will be happy to post the 2nd set here since they aren't listed in the rr database. I found the 2nd set on the Bergen Scanner website I believe

anyone know the bus frequencies for the Burlington County area?

They use a conventional duplex system I believe with no PL/DPL. Dispatch is 857.3875 and 859.3875 with the buses being 812.3875 and 814.3875. Most times you will only be able to hear the dispatch side unless you are close to the bus that is transmitting.

Quite frankly I don't understand why these frequency pairs aren't either repeaters or part of the trunked system.

I listen to Trans Bridge buses all the time. Can't beat the accurate traffic updates for Rt 78. I remember it being a pain to get the system programmed in. I have attached several screen shots as they say a picture is worth a thousand words...

Keep in mind also, Operations Supervisors also do use cell phones quite a bit to communicate with non-contractor operated, NJTBO buses when needed (and not moving naturally). However what is in the trunked system is correct. The frequencies you're talking about are conventional. Hence why they're not listed on the TRS's page.
