• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

The plan doesn't go into effect until July 1st. It could also change before then.

It's basically using the existing channels in a new manner where the tactical channels 6, 7a, 8a, 9a, will be predesignated to each division.

In addition, the DEP repeaters will be available as a secondary repeater channel.

So, if you have all the DEP/NJFFS frequencies in your scanner, nothing has really changed for you.

One of my sources told me last year that their may be a different PL assignment to the Tac channels (179.9 in addition to 82.5 I believe). I'll wait till he gets on here to confirm, since I haven't seen the list yet.

At this weeks meeting, we were told that the new radio plan goes into effect April 1, 2011. Its basically the same frequencies, just utilized differently for the three divisions. (With the additions of SPEN, south Jersey NET, DEP ch 11 and Ch 1 main DEP repeater). See Wiki link above.
