Hi all,
The other day while monitoring the NJSP Troop C TRS my BC796D stopped scanning the trunk and the display showed a 800-mhz freq and
a PL tone. I was driving at the time and did not have a chance to
jot down the freq but I THINK it was one of the ones from the TRS.
Anyone else experience this?

Thanks,
Cliff

There are conventional 800 MHz repeater and talkaround frequencies assigned to Troop C. If you want them email or private message me and I'll give them to you. You can do that by clicking on email or PM here on my post. I have the PL numbers for them also.

But why would the scanner suddenly come out of trunk and go to a conventional freq and do a tone search? Sounds like a question for Uniden

Perhaps a button was pressed without knowing it? If in a moving vehicle, it wouldn't be the first time :!:

I think you should recheck the settings on all the primary TRS frequencies and make certain that trunk is "on". It sounds like the 796 is reading one of the TRS frequencies as conventional. Another possibility is that you accidentially hit the search button.
