Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi everyone, have a quick question about an NMO mount and antenna, I installed on my vehicle. I recently bought a Larsen tri band, however I accidentally threw out the rubber gaskets that goes on with the antenna (RGNMOANT is what it is similar to). It rained a few days ago pretty good and I am worried that my NMO installation was compromised. Just curious, will I be fine without one and is my installation compromised. Thanks.

The NMO mount gasket would keep water out of your vehicle. the o-ring of gasket at the antenna base needs to be in place to keep water out of the area between the antenna and mount.

If the NMO mount was installed correctly, using the o-ring that is included with the kit, then there will be no damage to the installation.

If you installed the antenna without the gasket at the base, it is possible some moisture got in there. But not a big deal. Take the antenna off and clean/dry everything well. Use the link above to order a new gasket and install it.

Even with the gasket installed, it's always a good idea to periodically remove the antenna and check the underside and top of mount for any moisture. I usually do it every time I wash the truck.
