Current monitoring the Richmond, Henrico, and Chesterfield Trunked Radio System. No Locution dispatch and all fire dispatches are being conducted by in person.

I am only in this area overnight about once a week for work and always hear the locution dispatches, so guess something is down.

Much more voice radio traffic which I like coming from an area with heavy radio use.

The jurisdictions in the Richmond Capital Region do not use Locution, they use US Digital Designs' Phoenix G2 Station Alerting System. On the first of every month, Henrico County's ECC verbally dispatches all fire calls instead of using the Phoenix gateway. Keeps their skills sharp so if it ever truly goes down, they're up to speed on how to do it the 'old' way. Richmond City's and Chesterfield's have been operational all day.

I do agree that the increase in radio traffic is nice. Especially in Henrico, they use the radio (seemingly) as little as possible.

The G2 alerting system is super cool, worth looking into if you're interested in it.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I am in this reqion a few times a week. Only monitor when in the hotel room, since my delivery days are busy. Guess I have never been here on the 1st of the month.
