I have not heard the weekly (Wednsday) between 11AM & 1PM weather alert test for the last couple or so weeks.
I use 162.550 MHz and a S.A.M.E (FIPS) code of 026163.

Has any one else heard the checks? I 've checked my freq., FIPS code and they are correct.

Just wondering.

Thanks

My weather radio did not go off at all today either. Sounds like they might have a system problem that is developing?

This weeks test did occur as it always wakes me up from my short nap before I go to work. I wasn't using a scanner but a stand alone S.A.M.E. capable weather radio made by Midland. I'd say it was around 12:40pm Wednesday.

Weather Alert Test.

Thanks Ron. My radio activated too. Like it's been said, sometimes I think they skip the test.

I hope they don't have to activate it tonight with the snow and forcast.

I recently talked a friend of mine into purchasing a new NWR with SAME, and there was an Amber alert at 3:00 a.m. in the LA area and her radio went off. Needless to say, she was PO to the max. Thankfully, her Midland weather radio can delete that code so it will will not activate it.

If they start activating SAME Codes for Amber alerts in Michigan, I will definitely buy a new radio that can block that code. I don't mind being woke up in the middle of the night for a tornado, but not for something like this.

There's not been a push from the Mich Assn of Broadcasters to do that... fortunately...
