I’m new to uploading from the RR databases, and I’m finding that not all info can be imported. For instance, I can easily find all the frequencies listed for my local school district, but can’t find a way to upload them to my ws104. This problem occurs when I get search results using the FCC licenses granted folder. Any help would be appreciated.

The RadioReference database only contains information that YOU the user contribute to the database. If no one posts a frequency then it won't be there. You have to load the missing frequencies manually. Of course it would be nice if you also contribute those frequencies to the database.

Swipesy,
While your reply is appreciated, I believe I’ll wait for a constructive response from an informed member who can actually answer the question I asked.

ecps92,
Thank you for your response. I’m going to try and include a screenshot of a portion of the page I wish to download the info from. I’m reaching this page thru the RRDB and then going to the FCC licenses folder.
Thank you

That is the FCC link from RR, but not RRDB
The RRDB is thru County Home, other agencies, Amateur Radio

RRDB as someone so greatly already mentioned is user contributed data.
IF the information is not submitted/shared with RR then it doesn't exist.

The FCC is the licensing agency and there are over a gazillion jillion frequencies licensed, many not used and so many not reported as used
with valuable data, such as tones, usage etc

Plug those in manually and put you radio on Tone Search. Then.... do not assume what you hear is actually
them, as frequencies are shared. Spend time making notes, then once you are sure use the "Submit" button to send in the valuale info, where it will then be added and shared for future downloads

ecps92,
Thank you. I now understand how this all works. Now I need to provide SWIPESY with an apology.

Bob,
Looking at Lincoln County there is not a lot listed in RRDB for that area. The South Dakota P25 State system will require programming with software to load all the TG's. The other 3 states near you will keep you busy with that scanner.

SWIPESY,

I'd like to apologise for my less than appropriate response to your reply. It first appeared to me that I was being pressured to provide database info before I could download any. My mistake. Thanks.

Thanks, Nascar18.
I haven't tried adjacent states yet, but it looks like I'd better get busy looking.
Appreciate the reply.

@turbo4x4 welcome to the forums! That is a common misunderstanding, if a list is in Radio Reference it must be the database. However, as @ecps92 pointed out, there are several lists of information on Radio Reference.

The list you were looking at from the FCC database may or may not actually be in use as companies often get licenses and don't use them, or change the authorized mode (FM, DMR, etc). I hope if you find frequencies on the FCC list for your area, and do program them in your scanner you'll submit them to the database once you verify the usage and user so others can benefit from your experience.

Now that I have a better understanding of how this site operates, I’ll do a little contributing of my own.

I assume that is a WS1040. To find the frequencies available in Lincoln County, use this link: Lincoln County, South Dakota (SD) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference (radioreference.com) There are also talkgroups for Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties on the South Dakota State Radio System: South Dakota State Radio System Trunking System, Statewide, South Dakota - Scanner Frequencies (radioreference.com) Use the Sioux Falls Simulcast site. You will need programming software to download from the RR database using your premium membership. I use Butel ARC500 Basic for my programming. The Absolute Productions frequencies in Lennox are only licensed for 5 watts. You would probably need a good outside antenna to receive them.

Bob,
Just checking Iowa State system. It's a P-25 Phase II system which the WS 1040 won't receive.
Minnesota Armer system is a P-25 Phase I.
