Various covert units from the Fort Worth area have been working on Law IO 2 for several days in relation to a couple Capital Murder suspects. The amazing thing today was, they were tracking a vehicle, with the assistance of Air Assets from Tx DPS down IH 45 and then east to Nacodoches, and then south to Livingston Texas. 200 miles away. All the while utilizing NTIRN Law IO 2 and using 8tac95D as a backup. Sounds like it did drop out from time to time. But was still working at the time of posting this, as they were discussing what to throw on the grill before the trip back. And oh yeah, 1 suspect in custody.

That is thanks to the radios also having LTE / 5G capability. Once they go out of range of the system cellular kicks in to utilize the same talk groups. The 8tac95D was used when they had poor or no cell service.
Do you recall what the conversation was about not being able to operate 1.5 hours after sunset? I missed the first part of it and was laughing when they called one guy a nerd. But i really want ot know what it was about.

No I was out of the room and walked in to hear some of that, think it was in reference to an oversized load they were trying to pass to get home. And that officer said from his Trooper knowledge, oversized loads could not operate 1.5 hours after sunset. He said he recalled it from his FTO telling him to read the Traffic Code when he went to the bathroom.
