Unless somthing has changed over the last 24 Hrs, Nutley PD is 154.785 PL 179.9 PL you might want to check 154.995 This is their OEM repeater which I hear very little activity, however this repeater is indeed live and working. Also you might want to check the input freq of 153.905 they can switch repeater inputs and outputs, where 153.905 is repeater output and 154.995 is the input. Also check for a possible PL change?
I'll also check into this further since they are the next town to my home town!

Thanks

They are still on the same frequencies. How far away from Nutley are you?

I know rockaway is on the exact same input and output.

I am hearing them right now although I am in the town it self.

Thanks for your reply: I regularly hear them but the dispatcher made a comment that seemed to question if any Nutley PD units were still using this (154.785) frequency. I also ask because they seem to have much less radio traffic than in the past. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Yep, Nutley PD is still using 154.785...This is their main dispatch. Some things are being done over cell phone. If anything I wanna say radio traffic increased. Usually busiest between 10a and Midnight.

K2YYN hello from Nutley, my home town. Nutley is def still on 154.785 but their repeater is deaf. They have been having ALOT of problems with it and the phone lines in the comm center which had alot of work done lately. Many officers cannot raise HQ from the North side of town by Roche from the cars forget the HT's. I pickup rockaway from my house on the same channel but sometimes can't hear HQ the audio is so low. I hear a what i think is an A/C hum from the phone line when the transmissions are bad

Nutley fire now thats a different story they seriously need new radios I can't barely hear the engines transmissions and one station is around the corner. HQ comes in ok and most of the HT's but the truck radios could use a tuneup

Nutley fire operates on simplex and for some reason I can hear the truck radio no problem on a HT but yet an hour later barely making it.

Same for Nutley EMS. Can hear the trucks okay and portable if im close.

For the PD when the repeater dies they switch to channel 2 which is just the talk-around of the repeater.

What about 154.995?

You might want to check 154.995 This is Nutley's OEM repeater in which I hear very little activity, however this repeater is indeed live and working with 2 Pl Tones. Also you might want to check the input freq of 153.905 they can switch repeater inputs and outputs, where 153.905 is repeater output and 154.995 is then the input. K2YYN

At one time this was PD Ch 3 and I believe there was more activity when "Fred S" was the OEM and communications coordinator. Has any one heard anything on 154.995 or it's input 153.905 recently? (Last six months or so) Note Haledon EMS/OEM is on this frequency though close they are on a different repeater and PL.

Thanks:D

With all the problems PD is seeming to have with their communications. I am surprised they have not switched to this frequency as a temporary alternate. The last time I checked, PD did have this freq in their portables. Or is it a system that you are not supposed to know about? What are they saving it for? A big incident at Roch? Or perhaps they forgot it existed:D? Yea Right....

As to Healdon using this frequency it's been awhile since I have monitored:confused:

Lolol , PD actually doesnt have it in their mobiles or portables. I think everyone pretty much forgot about it. I think only Nutley FD has the channel in their radios.

Evedently there indeed has been a change in their ch set up then.
Asformentioned the 154.995 Ch WAS at one time in the PD portables.

Years ago the PD was on 155.370 (With Montvale and Park Ridge in Bergen County) Then they moved to their current repeater set up 154.785/156.030 PL 179.9 The 154.650 frequency was the mobible to mobile channel. I have only head them use it a few times over the years. Also they kept for awhile their old 155.370 using it for special events. The last activity I heard was on 4th of July 2009. With Prospect Park now using 155.37750 as fire dispatch, I guess the got away from using this freq. also.

I54.2650 was also used by FD at first with coordination with Clifton FD for La Roach incidents, then Nutley used it for it's HAZMAT team. Clifton now uses it for training PL 131.8 and I have heard nothing from Nutley:confused:.

Actually Haledon EMS was dissolved in February. North Haledon has formed their own Ambulance Corps.
Haledon and Prospect Park are being served by Paterson Fire EMS. North Haledon EMS is using their OEM repeater 156.2250 DPL445. I do not hear anything over 154.9950.

Haledon EMS (Ambulance) use to use the OEM repeater on 154.995/153.905 PL 107.2 KNDL324 for dispatch better coverage with the repeater rather than they were also licensed and still are on 155.2950 KWJ255.
So weather or not Haledon now uses the 154.995 repeater strictly for their OEM is unknown to me, since I have not monitored this frequency in a while on the 107.2 PL. However I do know that both Haledon and Nutley still have working repeaters on this 995 frequency.
I just wonder due to the changes in small town politics, I would not be surprised if in both towns, this little piece of RF real estate is being kept in some ones back pocket as a bargaining chip for political favors and or a position of importance? But that is for another discussion on a new thread if at all.

Back to Nutley, lets see if by monitoring this frequency and or asking someone who might know what this frequency pair 154.995/153.905 is ACTUALLY being used for.

Good hunting:D!
