If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

NX-3220 Charging Issue

I have a bit of a weird issue with charging on 2x NX-3220 radios I purchased from used-radios. They both came with KSC-25 chargers and aftermarket batteries. I couldn't get either of them to charge to green, though they did appear to charge it would always result in flashing red. They sent me a new aftermarket battery same thing. They also sent 2x KSC-25"LS" chargers which still results in flashing red, once or twice I was able to get green. I then purchased 2x genuine KSB-57L batteries and I am seeing the same issue with both model chargers.. KSC-25LS turns flashing red almost instantly. I turned on the radios and let them drain completely and it appears the KSC-25 charger does actually charge the batteries to full based on what I can tell but still turns flashing red instead of green in the end. Any ideas what could be the issue here?

The KSC-25LSK is the correct charger for KNB-40LC(V), 55L, 57LAM, 68LC, 78LM and 79LCM batteries.
The KSC-25SK is for the KNB-26N,40LC(v), 55L, 56N, 57LAM, 78LM and 79LCM batteries.

Flashing red LED means a battery error. Solid red would mean a battery temperature issue (Less than 0ºc or higher than 40ºc)

- Make sure the radio is turned off before charging, but it sounds like you did that.

You may need to put the batteries on over night. I've had new ones flash red but then charge up fine after a while.

They did indeed start flashing green after just letting them sit in the charger for an extended period of time. Thanks!

Now that it's charged. The charger has a unexpected behavior. Once the battery is charged. The charger will go into sleep mode and show the green LED no matter what. So if you want to leave your radio on in the charger. It will charge just fine, but then start discharging. So when you go to take you're desk radio for a walk. it dies quickly.

Just to save you from thinking your battery is bad when it's just normal behavior. Very silly behavior.
