We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Hey guys,

So I am sitting here at home in the Maiden area (Catawba County), scanning all the GMRS/FRS/MURS channels like I always do everyday and just a few minutes ago I hear Control Channel-type activity on FRS Channel-7!! I went to my recording and confirmed it. It's on 462.7125 and it's showing NX9 for the system type and a RAN 6. I thought maybe it was a fluke in the scanner however it just did it again 2 more times! it's a short burst and only lasts a second or 2, and sounds almost encrypted I can't make out what they're saying. Just strange that it's coming across as an NXDN network for an FRS channel... Anyone ever experience something similar? Anyone know what it could be or why it would happen? Thanks.

I was only using my 1 scanner at the time so I dunno about the multiple receivers part. As far as intermod goes I'm not sure, I mean the FRS channels are short-range distance so I suppose it's possible for intermod but with my scanner (BCD536HP) it's never happened to me before.
