Nyc 470 mhz

Just returned from NYC.
Brought my Uniden BCD396XT and GRE PSR-800 scanners.
No problem with the GRE.
Everything worked fine on the Uniden except one problem.
When I went into Search Mode and tried to search the 476-479 band the scanner would not stop on any of the frequencies. Yet when I went into the Service Search Mode it worked fine.
When I tried to hold on a freq manually in the Search Mode it was fine. But when in Search Mode the scanner would not automatically stop on any of the freqs. I went into the Edit Service Mode and looked at the modes. Made sure I had all the modes set correctly when in Search Mode. Even tried Automatic and every combination.

Anyone else having this problem or can shed any light on what I was experiencing?
Do I have a problem with my scanner where it needs to go in the shop?

Sounds like you have the UHF TV Broadcast Screen turned On. That setting would affect Quick Search, Custom Search and Close Call, but not Service Search.

Menu > Srch/CloCall Opt > Broadcast Screen > Set Each Band > UHF TV

If it's On, then it would've skipped anything in the 470 - 512 range.
