NYC TLC frequencies

Is it just me or is there always little activity on these frequencies? It's part of the DOITT, motorola trunked system. There are 9 talk groups programmed into my scanner. At one time I was hearing most of them, just recently only 1 was active.(9616) medallion cab enforcement. Is it true that they work 10 hr days, Monday-Thursday? I find that hard to believe, thanks.

I used to have that talkgroup programmed in but it got very annoying to listen to. Everything is just driver checks you will hear a lot of 17 TLC 17 DMV and it means everything checks out ok. I rather listen to the NYNJPA Edacs systems. Lots of cool stuff going on at the airports

Yeah I know. I basically heard the same thing. Running driver license,tags checks.The reason why I asked was that I am taking the TLC Inspector exam next month. I wanted to listen in on the day to day operations. Thanks for responding.

They may have moved over to the new DOITT/FDNY UHF trunking system.
