Was scanning today and noticed OCCB-1 is being used to broadcast incidents for transit citywide. Even heard a transit task force unit come over. There's barely any units coming over the air. Later on, I heard the dispatcher identify the station and said "citywide and citywide transit"

Using multi select on the console or patched together. Probably not enough dispatchers. It used to happen a lot on the Divisions at night 1 dispatcher would handle 2 zones (4 precincts) on the midnights

I'm aware of the patched consoles but I don't know of any frequency that is citywide transit. I know they had one on VHF but it was given to the MTA when they moved to UHF and now have the four main frequencies. Do you know the frequency for citywide transit if it exists? Otherwise I think they may be shifting OCCB-1 for citywide transit. I'll monitor more

That’s possible. There was an update to the APX next radios. Could have been done then.

Yeah, so it appears the high priority transit jobs are coming over this frequency using DCS 371. So I guess they repurposed this frequency and are using OCCB-2 for P25E comms.

I wonder if I should make a submission to have this changed in the database but if there's more to it then that from other members

I have OCCB-2 p25 in my console, Around 20:30 i heard "Communications to operations, how do you read, 5x5?" in the clear and about 10 mins later heard encryption come over. It seems they are testing the P25 OCCB in the clear and with E.

I personally don't scan the CW frequencies except SOD and HWY, or CW1/2 during details. The traffic on most of those other channels are just multicast.

Intresting to hear though cause all I've ever gotten on that channel was E when I'm randomly scanning

I have it programmed for analog and P25 back to back on my scan list. My xtl keeps showing an MDC ID CBFFF45F-127B-4739-AA41-D15F48809BD6.jpeg
