We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

I am searching the web, but not finding the codes used by the Oakland, CA fire and police deptartments. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

OPD Codes can be found here: http://www.bearcat1.com/radioca.htm (Just scroll down to Oakland.)

OFD Station Assignments can be found here: http://www.scancal.org/alameda/oakland_aparatus.html

OFD just uses plaintext and common abbreviations. i.e. - AOR = Available on the radio, ETOH = Under the influence of alcohol, etc. etc.

Btw, it took me a while listening to OPD but Patrol 1, 2 & 3 are all dispatch positions for different parts of the city. P1 is downtown, P2 and P3 are south/east of downtown and seperated by MacArthur but I can't remember which one is which... listen to some addresses and you'll get it. Patrol 4 & 5 are mostly car-to-car, and the Service 1 & 2 tgs are used to run license plates and update on incidents. Late at night, the city patches some of the dispatch tgs together into tg 00-001 which becomes Citywide dispatch, and 02-011 which is citywide service.(?)
