OC, NJ Monoc Dispatch

Anyone hearing what sounds like a signal you get when you leave a phone off the hook on Monoc Dispatch, it's been off and on all day?

Yep, just heard it. No voice traffic though, just the signal.

Last week one of the dispatchers thought it was an open mic.

I think it may have to do with one of the repeaters. While working yesterday ( I work there) I was able to transmit over it.

It's a pain, I'm still hearing it. At least it's not constant.

Just a guess, but if the repeaters are linked via phone lines (which alot are) there could be a dead short in a line, perhaps weather/rain/wind related. Again, only a guess.

I think it was raining last week when it happened, and same thing yesterday... Could be

One of their tie lines may have gotten accidentally crossed by one of the phone company employees as well. It was driving me insane yesterday!

So far today I haven't heard it, maybe they found and fixed the problem.
