Just curious if anyone successfully monitors Ocean County 700 MHz P25 using one of Uniden’s older phase II capable scanners? (i.e. 436hp, 325p2)
Or is LSM distortion so bad that it’s absolutely necessary use a SDS100/200 or Unication G4/5?

Your reception will vary depending on location with the 436 or 325P2. Some spots it will be good and others not so good. If you're planning on a stationary installation you can experiment with antenna placement until you get the reception acceptable. This doesn't always work but it's really all you can do. Mobile or just walking around with a portable will be problematic for sure. I cannot comment on the SDS100/200 as I do not own one. BTW this is my experience with the Camden and Gloucester County systems. I'm out of range of Ocean Co.

Is there an expected time frame for PD, Fire, EMS to begin using the P25 trunked system?

No exact time frame however public safety migration starts this year. Only ones on the system full time are fire marshals, fire and EMS coordinators.
