ODOT Frequency Listing / Use

I pulled all the FCC records licensed to ODOT last night and compared them against what's listed in the RRDB. They have a few on VHF lowband (east of the Cascades) and on UHF (probably links), along with several AM broadcast highway advisory radio stations. Still, their meat and potatoes is the VHF highband. The below VHF frequencies in bold are not accounted for in the DB (except for the HEAR Net).

ODOT FCC Listings

Some licenses had very descriptive information, so I placed that next to the frequency. Planning to put these all in the scanner and see what turns up. I'm sure some of them are inputs to known repeaters, but just not listed yet.

Also, ODOT has a license on 155.340 which is the HEAR (ambulance-to-hospital) net. My best guess is they are licensing this for statewide agency use. It comes back on WNXQ733 for 1,000 mobile units at 40 watts power, with a operating radius of 483 kilometers, centered in Deschutes County.

If anyone wants to chime in with info, it's greatly appreciated! Hopefully we can get the ODOT database updated.

Okay, I compared the FCC listings to the ODOT District Maps available on their web site here, as well as the current RRDB listings. District 7 has two pairs of repeater frequencies, I am not sure which RX pairs with which TX frequency.

This frequency repeater pair pops up along the Coos and Curry County coastline with many transmitter sites. I am guessing this is for better coverage along the south coast.

The following frequencies pop up as mobile-only transmitters under some of the various FCC licenses. Most frequencies appear to be independent of any repeater pairs and mobile-only, so I am thinking these are used for tactical or flagging channels, depending on the district: 151.025, 151.040, 151.070, 151.085, 155.745, 158.745, 158.820.

The following frequencies show up as part of "Road & Weather Information System" data transmitters limited to 5 watts: 158.9925 (Hwy 26 x Hwy 216), 159.0075 (Hwy 20 x Hwy 22), 159.1725 (Hwy 97 x Hwy 197).

The following frequency was labeled as for "Flagging Operations" and has only mobile transmitters: 154.8525

The following frequencies are licensed to a specific area. No idea what these are being used for; possibly flagging or work crew operations:
153.995 Tillamook / Nehalem Area - Mobiles Only
156.120 Salem Area - Mobiles Only

The following frequencies show up as independent sites near difficult mountain passes, so I am pretty sure these are in use for mountain operations, especially in the winter. Some have repeaters, some are just fixed base and mobiles licensed.

Great work, sounds like what I am working on with OSP.

Although your search turned up a number of good licenses, a better search would be directly from the ULS for FRN 1559632 -- the licensee name may not always be Oregon Dept of Trans, but the FRN should be the same for all of them. The results of such a search are in the attached zip file.

As soon as we get good descriptions for all of them I can get them in the database. Thanks for your hard work and effort!
