Off topic sort of....

A young and foolish pilot wanted to sound cool and show who was boss on the aviation frequencies. So, this was his first time approaching a field during the nighttime. Instead of making any official requests to the tower, he said, “Guess who?”


The controller switched the field lights off and replied, “Guess where!”

That's funny! And I for one DO get you user name, which is a distinct clue to my approximate age.

It's bad enough the pilot is imature, but for the controller to participate is ridiculous.

Heard on local traffic frequency- some random guy making test counts, etc. Then a strong signal comes on "WHO IS THIS?" The unknown voice- "You can't tell?" strong signal - "NEGATIVE" unknown voice - "good".

"who is this", that's an old one, first heard it back in the "pre" caller ID days. An oldie but goodie!

A B-29 "FiFi was the only flying B-29" was flying in Cleveland Center airspace called the controller asking for an IFR clearance. The controller asked if he was IFR rated, the pilot's response was "Son I was flying IFR over Tokyo before you were born." I'll never forget it.
