Hello,

Before I begin let me apologize for my lack of knowledge.

I recently received a Uniden BC346XT
This is the product page: BC346XT - The RadioReference Wiki

After a while of learning how trunking works. I was able to enter in both the City of Dayton and Montgomery County Trunks into the scanner successfully getting radio chatter.

I look and see that I can listen to the OSP too which I thought that was pretty cool.

So I try to program in the MARCS system just as I did Dayton and Montgomery County's systems.

However whenever it picks up a talk group, all I hear is (I think) the data channel.

I live in Dayton so I saw the frequencies and entered them (without the letters obviously, just coped those from the site) :

866.15000
866.93750
867.32500a
868.32500a
868.60000c

I see my radio pick up specific talkgroups but all I hear is that stupid "buzzsaw" noise.

I have tried switching the band plan from 800 / 900 Standard to 800 Splinter but there was no change.

Now I looked on RadioReference's product page for my scanner (listed above) and it supports the Motorola Type II Smartzone Omnilink

Can anyone tell me what I might have done wrong or if my scanner can even pick up MARCS?

Once again I apologize for being a complete amateur but I am confused on why it wont work.

Thank you for your time.

The 346XT is an analog only radio, no good for MARCS.

Check the Wiki for digital capable scanner models if you wish to scan MARCS.
