OHP Low band

Does OHP still use or even have low band equipment in areas that have gone to TRS?

Yes they still use it for Car to Car stuff and dispatch still puts out broadcasts on there as well.

Many areas are not covered by the 800 system, especially in the Rural area. In these areas Lowband is still the way of life.

OHP is still very active on lowband...I know the "Ocean" units use it alot and, as stated earlier, alot of car 2 car.

This past Thursday morning OHP aircraft was active in NE OK on 45.22 communicating speeders to ground units. Never did quite figure out where exactly.

I believe it was on SH64, heard them tell the units involved @ 7 am they would be working it @ 9 am.
