P25 Phase 1

Hello all,
I have an old Pro 96 that I needed to update to listen to OKWIN(P25) system in Tulsa, Ok.
I am using ACR96 software and have loaded the P25 system in the scanner, but I pick up nothing.
I have tried different options in the software to try to get it to work but I have had horrible luck with this, any tips or tricks I need to be aware of when attempting to program P25 systems?

Thanks,
JB

Currently trying to update my old Pro96 to the P25 system and I know that on this particular scanner I need to input the Bandplan table for the MOT9600 system, and I was wondering if anyone would happen to know what the table needs to be set at? I am monitoring the Tulsa system. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same problem with a P25 Phase 1 system here in L.A. I program my Pro96 with Win 96 and I was able to set custom tables and it works fine now. Maybe send me a PM with your email address and I will send you a screen shot of my settings. Maybe you can input the settings in ARC96?

The sites in the south part of the state broadcast 4 band plans. Probably the whole system is the same. The first line is the only one that is used.

This is what Unitrunker shows. I don't know how to translate this into a format that the Pro-96 uses.

base low high spacing slots
851.00625 00-000 00-4095 6.25 1
762.00625 01-000 01-4095 6.25 1
851.01250 02-000 02-4095 12.5 2
762.00625 03-000 03-4095 12.5 2

This looks like a phase 2 table, I could be wrong, any chance you could go to youtube and type in "How to program a Pro 96 With ARC96 For a (Project 25) System" and see if you can make heads or tails out of what he is trying to show, I know the Tulsa Control tower freq. I am curious as if that is what needs to be input in the Base frequency and I would like to know how the low and HI channels were thought up?

This is admittedly old, but the wiki has the following;
Program your scanner for OKWin - the RR Wiki
There is a whole thread linked in this article that discusses this issue in detail
That article is for the post-rebanding SmartZone band plan used at one site.
The OP needs to program the P25 system.
I have never use a PRO-96 or any other scanner that can't use the band plan from the control channel so I can't be of much help.

That is exactly what I need, the Bandplan from the control channel. :)

Well that's what I already posted; the band plan from the P25 control channel that Unitrunker shows but it's a different format than what you enter into a PRO-96 and I don't know how to convert it.

Thank you for that by the way. After watching that youtube video it looks like I need to try -
Low channel: 0
Hi Channel: 4095
Offset:0
Base:851.01250
Step:12.5

OR

Low channel: 0
Hi Channel: 4095
Offset:0
Base:851.00625
Step:6.25
Not sure which yet.
If I enter all 4 of the ones that you provided might get a little more tricky, but if Tulsa only uses 1 then I need to narrow it down to that specific one I would think.

Hello, I've had a problem trying to hear anything on the okwin p25 system at all. I have a uniden bcd996p2, I use free scan and import systems and channels directly from radioreference. I have tried everything and seem to have no luck, any help would be much appreciated!

If you are in Clinton then you might be too far away from any OKWIN sites to receive them at all.
What kind of antenna are you using?

I am in Stillwater doing some training classes for work and had both systems programmed for my trip, I hear the analogs just fine but nothing on the p25 system. In my work truck I have a comtelco wideband nmo that has done really well for me reception wise and clarity. I have also brought with me a telescopic antenna that came with the radio.
