Wow I remember all those Bridgeport codes, used to listen religiously because my dad was a cop, at one time my uncle was a dispatcher until they made it all civilians

I don't think they have a need for those now

I have a binder somewhere filled with CT public safety codes/signals from back in the day, which have either been revised or abandoned since.

I have one of my own that I kept, it has the Torrington Police 2 codes as well as the Waterbury codes that Winsted Police uses. And can't forget the "big list" of Litchfield County Dispatch medical codes

Hmmm...it may have been too many years ago to remember, I thought it was Winsted that used Waterbury's codes but I could be thinking of a different town

My brain is probably misremembering things...I know at one point in time there was a listing that suggested the Winsted codes were adopted from another department, but as I dig back to bearcat1.com on the Wayback Machine, I don't see Winsted even listed and I'm starting to wonder if I ever had Winsted's codes to begin with...I'll know when I get home tonight and look in my folder.

Ahhh OK as I read through my binder now it's coming back to me.
The codes shared by Waterbury and Winsted aren't the main codes, they are the report/action codes used at the end of a call.

WINSTED/WATERBURY REPORT CODES:

ACTION 1 - INCIDENT OR CRIMINAL ARREST REPORT (USED WHEN A WARS REPORT FORM IS MADE)
ACTION 2 - ACCIDENT HIT AND RUN REPORT
ACTION 3 - WARRANT SERVICE (NO REPORT UNLESS FURTHER ACTIVITY OCCURS)
ACTION 4 - SUBJECT AGREE (USED IN MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS, NO REPORT)
