Anyone use the DPD productions Omni-X scanner antenna? How well does it do on 700-800mhz trunking and also vhf?
That’s the one I have. You folks ever considered the MilTenna?

That is to be expected as the antenna are not tuned to those bands and will then perform very poorly. "Tuned: 225-400, 118-137 & 138-140 MHz " Your frequency requirements are better served with a discone with a top element for VHF-LO.....They use both 450 and 800 and they are very weak....And 30 to 50 is non existent now and the 150 is very weak also.... Sure was not worth the money in my opinion.
My mistake to assume it was the mil version. One of the dipole elements are tuned to 161MHz and should work well at 150-170MHz, at least compared to a discone. Maybe the antenna was turned to two directions that was not the optimum one. Contrary to its name it is not an omni antenna, it has some directivity and might even need to be used somewhat tilted. A discone are a true omni antenna and doesn't suffer from directivity problems. The omni x is tuned for 225-900 mhz. Think your posting about Mil omni Ubbe. owl9704a posted about the omni x.
