I've been trying to figure this out and can't really find any good info anywhere.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what the license restrictions stand for. So far I've heard them say A,X,Y,W

example:

Driver is licensed class Golf, restrictions Xray

or some times they will say no restrictions if they don't have any but not always.

Any help to clarify would be great!

The restrictions all on the license, if I recall correctly they are listed on the reverse of the Ontario D/L.

Using your example of Golf X-Ray, it means, tge driver has a class G license but his vision needs correction.

No restrictions means there are no restrictions on the license.

Cheers

Makes sense now that you say it that X would be vision, i here that one all the time. Still curious what all the other restrictions are and the letters associated with them on the back of Ontario DLs, I don't have any restrictions on my DL it's just blank. I know they don't really matter much but I like knowing and learning all the codes and lingo.

Class B bus school
Class C bus greyhound type/ Ambulance

The excellent link Matt posted has the answer to the original question about restrictions attached to a drivers licence such as X-Ray which is for Corrective Lenses.
