I have seen posts stating that OS has encryption on the CC. I am curious if it is actually encrypted, or if it is just defacto encrypted, due to no one having decoded the data stream.

If it is real encryption, then that kills the idea I have for trying to make a functional scanner for the local system.

Yes, OpenSky uses control channels, but the voice is sent back over the control channels.

No, OpenSky does not use encryption by default. It is however an option.

OpenSky uses 2:1 TDMA and I believe the format is proprietary.
OpenSky 2 used 4:1 TDMA and I believe its format is also proprietary.

I think that you will have zero probability of success being able to scan it unless your knowledge of
electronics is way above the pay grade of the most expert users of this board.

My understanding is that most OpenSky systems (the few that actually exist) are full time encrypted anyway, so there's no point in even starting the project.
