OPP Alpha Units

I am listing to the feed from Hastings County, and every now and then I heard Alpha Units being called and talking. I looked at the list on here and didn't see where/what the Alpha units were in Eastern Ontario. Anyone know?

The 5A units on FleetNet 1 are headquarters units based in Orillia.

Not sure if that was what you were hearing working down in your area.

Alpha units are Regional Headquarters units. In your case they would probably be based out of Smiths Falls.

Alpha units would include TRU, Canine, Traffic, etc, etc. check the Wiki for a complete list.

5Alpha units are based out of Aurora, not Orillia.

1Alpha units would be based out of Orillia.

However, neither would be heard out in Hastings County.

Chances are he's hearing Alpha units out of Smiths Falls.

Then I'd say that it's part of the Highway Traffic Safety Division logged on as a HQ unit.

Example, when they're using the plane for Traffic Enforcement, then it's possible that they've logged in that way.
