Does anyone know what frquencies the opp uses on Marine patrol in Lake St.Clair, Sydenham river and the snye (ecarte channel). I see them stopping boats to inspect for safety equipment and drinkers, etc. Might be interesting to listen to. Thanks

Generally they use whatever talkgroup is used for the area. The MNR has some specific talkgroups for lake enforcement, so if they're on board, that is an idea also.

They use whatever the local detachment talkgroup is or a TAC group if a special operation is on the go.

The Huronia West marine unit was involved in a seadoo chase yesterday off the shore of Wasaga Beach. All activity was on 1OPS33 with the marine unit using a portable on BEAT02.

The only time they would use the marine channels is during a joint operation with the Coast Guard. Normally they're on Channel 82, 157.1250Mhz.

I onced heard them on the water around the Bruce Nuclear site. They were on the normal Bruce Pen/South Bruce and Northern Grey patch.

I dont think I have heard an OPP marine unit in Burlington, all the lakeside muncipalities have active municipal marine unit(s).

Thanks everybody for the responce. I will try to monitor the T.G.`s on OPP. The RCMP also have a boat out checking occasionally, also C/K Police are out there. You have to be careful ... Bill
