Does anyone know if Orange County Law Enforcement will ever unencrypt their communications in the near future? Or is encryption here to stay?

I would guess it is here to stay. Why would they want to decrypt when it is already encrypted. I don't see a reason for it.

I spoke with a gentleman at the Orange County Sheriff's Communication Center the other day and asked him about the digital trunking system and he said it's here to stay, especially the encryptions. I can understand the encrypted channels, due to the special op's that go on from day to day. Some ears don't need to hear them until the door gets knocked on.
