• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Was just glancing through the Ontario Live Audio feeds and noticed there's now a feed for Orangeville, Ontario Fire:

Orangeville Fire Live Scanner Audio Feed

I've never noticed it before so I assume it's new.

The strange part is, Orangeville Fire Service has been encrypted for at least 4 years now.

Unless something has recently changed, that's going to be a pretty quiet feed unless this is an official feed by somebody with a department radio.

possible its just the Dispatch page outs?
151.38500 RM 162.2 PL OrngvlFSDsp Fire (pageouts)

and not the rest of the audio? I guess we will have to wait for the feed provider to chime in

(attempts to contact feed provider) come back with a "user has chosen NOT to allow PM's or emails" so that wont work.

It's live now and it appears to be a feed coming from Orangeville Fire.

As per a post on Scanont, Orangeville is removing encryption from their system.

The truck radios appear to be clear now and Dispatch is still encrypted.
