As is usual for the media, they have focused their attention on Galveston and Houston for damage from Hurricane Ike. This is not to say that these areas do not deserve coverage and that they did not take the brunt of the storm.
But Ike also tore through the midwest. Northeastern Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan also were hit and in some places hit hard as Ike blew by.
The company I work for is located in the Dayton, Ohio area. When I tried to get to my company email this morning, the server was down. Not to mention my boss was not on line (we all work remotely). So I checked the local news for Dayton.
Ike left nearly two million (that is a 2 followed by 6 zeros) without power. Reports are saying some people may be without power for the rest of the week.
So if anyone else has an Ike related story or info on what they have heard related to Ike outside of the Texas/LA area, let's post it here.
