I got this from the ucan web site about the Harris change over.
Cutover 12/2/22 244 days after that we will all need radios,
that can decode Phase P25 1 and then latter Phase P25 2 and Decode TDMA,
all Digital. so every has at least a year or 2 to get a scanner ,
that can Decode TDMA and Phase 2 which is P25 TDMA
i hoping they will not lock us completely out .
otherwise there will not be a radio we can buy to listen in.
there is a whole schedule on a timeline for all of this.

they changed the name from ucan to uca { Utah communications authority } L3harris is a Utah based company unified fire authority already has a p25 p1 system but I never hear anything on it

i have tried to monitor that unified fire as well from time to time never heard anything either
not sure if it is going to be a part of the build out or not but check their web site it explains
the time table of the build for the new systems, how many tower site are needed for the new
systems.

Well UCA has currently 60 towers for zone 1 north or 7202 system and roughly 60 towers south on zone 2 643E system, with more pending licenses before the announcement, so that’s 120+ Sites
