P25 800MHz in Chico

Hello RR.

Today I overheard a conversation on 856.7875 with NAC 293 in Chico. One subscriber was not encrypted, the rest were and I believe it is repeated. Most of the traffic seems to be IT-related.

Anyone have an idea who they are?

After listening some more, they are definitely something IT related. The repeater comes in strong in Downtown Chico. One user mentioned going to "Trinity" and later "Tehama". Not sure if they are referring to the county or something else.

Related to Chico State IT, but I think it's more hobbyist and not official

Not Chico State. As far as I can find, CSU doesn't have any 800MHz licenses at Chico.

More than likely, it's these guys:

"ESP" has repeaters on this frequency in both Sutter and Butte counties.
